RAPID FIRE Q&A: ROSHNI CHATTERJEE
Q: What is your favourite thing about your career?
A: What I love most about my career is how wildly diverse and rewarding it’s been. From working across industries and learning from some of the most fascinating leaders globally, to seeing businesses go from zero to IPO, it’s been one hell of a ride. Over 18 years, I’ve worked on everything from cleaning products and pet food to skincare and packaged foods. After the FMCG years, I got an insider’s look at how startups scale, working in venture capital, and now, getting my hands dirty in the startup world—it’s the real hustle! Honestly, it’s been a privilege, and I’m excited to see what comes next.
Q: What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep (and why)?
A: My sleep is sacred. If it’s a late-night grind, I’ll power through, but you’ll definitely catch me recharging as soon as I can.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: The best is yet to come. I don’t like to sit and look at my past winnings, instead focus on what’s the next big thing we can achieve together.
Q: What’s your favourite movie?
A: I don’t have a favourite movie, but I do have a favourite book, The Eighth Life by Nina Haratischwili. I haven’t met someone yet who has read this massive novel, if you have, please hit me up! I’d love to deep dive on the story and characters with you.
Q: Is your glass half full or half empty?
A: It has just the right amount of liquid in it.
Q: Would you rather trade intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence?
A: Oh, intelligence all day long. And while we’re at it, I’d throw in a healthy dose of sarcasm and dry, witty humour. Gotta keep things interesting, right?
Q: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
A: Introvert mostly, but I enjoy being social when needed.
Q: If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
A: To be able to make people laugh, no matter how serious things get. I truly believe when people laugh together, they are able to do the best work together, and magic happens.
Q: If money was no object, what would you do all day?
A: I’d be travelling the world, hopping from country to country, soaking up every bit of culture, wine, and food I could find. I’d never stay in one place—there’s just too much to see and taste out there!
Q: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?
A: I’d say I’m like an octopus. Flexible, adaptable, and able to juggle multiple things at once without breaking a sweat. I can dive deep into different tasks, solve problems in creative ways, and, of course, I’m always ready to slip into new environments.
