Introducing Alexis: Rapid Fire Q&A

Business Operations Strategy

Rapid Fire Q&A with Alexis Hurewitz. Creative & Operations Strategist. Flywheel Strategy.

WRITTEN BY: ALEXIS HUREWITZ

I joined Flywheel Strategy to collaborate with a team that values smart execution, clear strategy, and the kind of momentum that moves businesses forward.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked across a range of in-house and consulting roles—helping brands launch new products, build teams from scratch, streamline operations, and bring big ideas to life. I’ve had the chance to partner with a variety of companies, from global public corporations to privately owned family businesses, and across industries like fashion, home, luxury, and digital marketplaces. My experience includes working with brands such as Rugs USA, Sotheby’s Motorsport, duPont Registry, Stark Carpet, Ashley Stark Home, One Kings Lane, Michael Kors, and DVF.

Throughout my career, I’ve often been called the “Marketing Chief-of-Staff”—someone who sits at the intersection of creative, strategy, and operations, helping teams do their best work by connecting the dots, clearing blockers, and keeping things moving. I’m passionate about supporting great brands and the people behind them—making sure they’re set up not just to succeed, but to thrive. My sweet spot is where ideas meet execution—bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to big, complex initiatives.

RAPID FIRE Q&A: ALEXIS HUREWITZ

Q: What is your favorite thing about your career?

A: I love the variety—every day brings something new, and I get to collaborate across different teams, functions, and challenges. It’s incredibly rewarding to support so many moving parts and pick up unique experiences along the way. Plus, I’ve had the privilege of meeting amazing people—some of whom have become great friends!

Q: What was your first job?

A: I started babysitting around 12 years old and worked as a day-camp counselor in the summers.

Q: What is your favorite board game?

A: Backgammon! I like the mix of strategy and luck, plus it’s a fun game to play with friends on the beach – everyone plays it here in Miami!

Q: What is your favorite rainy day activity?

A: I am an avid reader (I am usually reading multiple books at a time), so curling up with a good book is my go-to activity on a rainy day. I love historical fiction novels and personal development books.

Q: What was your major in college?

A: I originally went to college for the Art & Design program at the University of Michigan and then switched my major to the History of Art. I grew up painting and drawing since I was 5 years old, but I always had a very academic side as a lover of history and culture. For me, the History of Art was the perfect blend of visual arts, history, and culture.

Q: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

A: I am truly a mix of both! I am an outgoing person, love meeting new people and socializing, but I also highly value my quiet time to recharge.

Q: What do you collect?

A: I have been collecting vintage and antique jewelry and home decor since childhood. I am particularly obsessed with beautiful coral, shells, and crystals.

Q: If money was no object, what would you do all day?

A: It would be a mixture of painting, drawing, swimming in the ocean, reading on the beach, hunting for home decor items and collectibles, decorating homes with beautiful objects, walks in nature, fitness, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

If you were to write a book, what would it be about?

My first job right after college, working in the fashion industry in NYC – I have so many funny stories and memories!
