RAPID FIRE Q&A: KELLY HAUGE

Q: What is your favorite thing about your career?

A: How multidimensional it is! I’ve had the opportunity to work across so many different aspects of a business, which allows me to approach challenges with a cross-functional perspective and a more holistic view.

Q: What was your first job?

A: I was a swim instructor and lifeguard at the local club in high school. As a swim team kid, it felt like a dream to get paid for something I already loved.

Q: Is your glass half empty or half full?

A: I believe the glass is always refillable. It’s less about how much is in the glass and more about recognizing that we have the ability to replenish it based on how we approach challenges and opportunities.

Q: What’s your favorite movie?

A: Life is Beautiful. It’s a powerful reminder that even in the toughest situations, our attitude can transform our experience.

Q: What’s your favorite board game?

A: I’m a game night enthusiast, and Balderdash never fails to leave me in tears laughing at the wildly creative answers.

Q: What dish do you cook best?

A: For me, nothing beats the magic of flour, eggs, and a little olive oil coming together in a fresh pasta. After spending about six months in Italy collectively, I picked up the art of making simple homemade pasta and sauces. It’s my go-to comfort food.

Q: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

A: I’m a social introvert. I love connecting with people and building relationships, but I also need plenty of solo time to recharge.

Q: Have you ever gone viral online?

A: No viral fame for me, but I did have a TV moment! During an internship at a real estate company featured on a home improvement show, I threw the winning shot in an intense game of ultimate dodgeball.

Q: If money was no object, what would you do all day?

A: I’d spend my days exploring natural hot springs, taking cold plunges in rivers, and hiking through quiet forests. I’d keep it simple-good company, open trails, and time to take it all in.

Q: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?

A: I’d like to think I’m a bit like a duck-adaptable, gliding between water, land, and sky. I’m people-oriented and observant, always aware of the group dynamics around me.
